My Chemical Romance, the godfathers of emo, have released new music for the first time since 2014. Naturally, the surprise release had the internet in meltdown and threw me straight back to my “it’s not a phase, Mum!” stage of life with a big ol’ whack from the nostalgia stick.
my chemical romance just dropped a 6 minute banger of a fucking song for the first time since 2014, i’m pic.twitter.com/3OO3sk77s6

The new single is six minutes long and feels extremely warm and familiar. The boys have seamlessly blended elements from all past projects, I’m talking the unadulterated rage of ‘I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love’, the theatrics of ‘Welcome to the Black Parade’ through to the experimentation of ‘Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys’.
With new music being released and tours on the horizon it looks like emo is back and My Chemical Romance will be right at the front, leading the Black Parade.
